Ashley is a 42-year-old mom of 2 who works as a rehab coordinator in St. Johns, Michigan. She and her husband Andy have been married for 20 years. Andy is also an avid endurance athlete who has done several full distance triathlons and some ultra running races. Together they have two amazing daughters, Lizzy (15) and Kate (13), both of whom swim competitively and play soccer. Kate also plays basketball. Ashley spends most of her days driving the kids to and from their activities. Watching them compete in their sports is one of her favorite things to do! Ashley grew up in Traverse City, Michigan and played basketball and softball in high school. She went to college at Grand Valley University, and was very involved in the rock climbing club where she met Andy. He and some of their other friends from climbing got her into mountain biking in college as well. In 2005, Ashley and her best friend competed in their first triathlon, the InterRockin sprint tri. Over the next 6 years, she and Andy worked for 3 disciplines racing, helping to put on triathlons all over the state. After having her first daughter in 2011, Ashley decided to train for a marathon to get back in shape. Since then, she has run 3 stand alone marathons.  After her second daughter was born in 2014, Ashley trained for her first 70.3 in Benton Harbor. After that, she was hooked, and has since completed several more half distance triathlons and 4 Ironmans, including Louisville 2017, Mont Tremblant 2019, Lake Placid 2022 and Chattanooga 2025. Her favorite 70.3 is 70.3 Michigan in Frankfort, as her family has a house right on the bike course.

2026 GOALS

The last few years Ashley has been dealing with different injuries and other issues that have limited her training and racing. Her goals for 2026 are to get healthy and get back to training consistently. While she does not have any races on the calendar for this year, she is hoping to add something in July or August. She is also hoping to do another Ironman in the future, whether that be in 2027 or maybe a few years down the road when her kids have graduated high school.
