Dan Korte
Team Member Since 2024
Dan Korte is an age group athlete (M 45-49), proud father of four, and Vice President at Clark Construction Co. in MI. Dan and his wife live in Grand Ledge, MI and are involved in several of their kids' activities, such as track, cross-country, and scouting. Dan grew up playing several sports, was a three-sport athlete in high school, and primarily enjoyed playing hockey starting at a young age, through college (club), and still recreationally today in Lansing. Dan enjoys running a variety of distances from local 5k's to marathons (10) and half marathons (40) throughout the midwest and other parts of the country. Dan has focused less on setting PR's in recent years and more on enjoying training and running with family members and friends, especially in helping them achieve their race goals and/or PR's. Over the years, he has enjoyed cycling with the local TCBA group and has done several century rides. Dan found a passion for triathlon nearly 25 years ago, and did his first sprint triathlon (the "Splash, Pedal, and Dash" tri in Schaumburg, IL) in 2002. Since then, he has done over 20 triathlons (half of which were the Olympic distance), has completed four half ironman distances and completed his first full Ironman 140.6 triathlon in Madison, WI in 2023, which was a lifelong dream of his.
2026 GOALS
My current goals are to continue training for the long-course events, and race the 70.3 distance at the GR Tri in June while focusing more on LTT team training and racing events, such as T-Rex and others. I am looking to bounce back from a recent knee injury and complete the Detroit Half Marathon in October to raise funds for Scouting in Michigan.
