Ron is a retired 67-year-old who started competing in triathlon in 1987. Twenty-four years later he joined the Lansing Triathlon Team it's first year in 2011. Ron has been married to his wife Brenda for 44 years and they have one son, Ken.

Ron started his education with an Auto Mechanics degree, and was then hired into General Motors and entered their Skilled Trades program. During his time with GM, he acquired two Journeyman cards.

Ron has completed 163 triathlons, including six IM 140.6 and thirty one IM 70.3 finishes! His favorite discipline is running, and he has completed 17 marathons, including two Boston Marathon finishes, as well as 33 half marathons. He has also competed in many other running distances, including three hundred and sixty two 5k's!

2026 GOALS

My goal this year is to stay young by continuing to enjoy the camaraderie of my Lansing Triathlon Team, as well as continuing to compete in triathlons. My "A" race this year is the Frankfort 70.3 in September.
